Central Church is an independent non-denominational Church.
Central Church wants to be your church home. At Central, we seek to worship our Risen Savior and grow in our relationship with Him. We strive to be an active seven-day-a-week church family for Radford and surrounding communities. We invite you to join in worship, study, and a number of other ministries.
Central's Core Beliefs
We believe from the beginning there was one eternal God who was and is omnipresent, and by Him all things were created. God exists in a perfect, divine trinity of three persons: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is all knowing and all powerful and possesses infinite love and goodness. (Biblical ref: John 1:1-14, Genesis 1:1, Psalm 106, Matthew 28:20)
We believe Jesus, the prophesied Messiah, the Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, was crucified and died for the sins of all people, rose from the dead, and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. It is only through faith in Christ alone, and by His grace that we receive salvation and forgiveness for our sins and eternal life. (Biblical ref: Romans 6:23, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, John 3:16, Isaiah 53)
We believe that the Holy Spirit proceeds from and is one in being with the Father and the Son. It comforts, sustains, and empowers the faithful and guides them into all truth. The grace of God is seen by people through the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives and in the world. (Biblical ref: John 4:24, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, John 14:26, Acts 2:1-4)
We believe the Bible to be the Word of God written by human authors led by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is not only divinely inspired and without error, it is the definitive guide for our daily lives. (Biblical ref: John 1:1, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe man and woman were created by God in His image. Because of Adam’s fall, man is separated from the holiness of God and because of this separation, humanity today has the same sinful nature. Without Christ, we cannot be renewed and reconciled to God. Mankind always has a choice, but apart from Christ, he will seek sinful behavior. (Biblical ref: Romans 5:12, Genesis 3, Romans 3:21-24)
We believe Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. We practice worship as the duty and privilege of man. We believe worship is essential to the life of the Church, and the assembling of the people of God for worship is necessary for Christian fellowship and spiritual growth. Our Church is a fellowship of believers charged with fulfilling the Great Commission to go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. During Christ’s early ministry, He established Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to be performed by His church. Our church puts great emphasis on missionary work along with other forms of spreading the Word of God and demonstrating the love of God to everyone we encounter. (Biblical ref: Exodus 20:8, Psalm 95:1-7 Matthew 28:19-20, James 1:22, John 13:34, John 22:37-38) We believe that Jesus Christ will come again at a time known only to God. He will then judge the living and the dead and establish his eternal reign. (Biblical ref: Revelations 22:20, 1 Corinthians 11:26, Revelations 22:12, Acts 1:9-11, John 14:1-3)
